Cortez J. Wash is the founder of Tents of Jehoshaphat.  1996 Cortez accepted Yahshua (Jesus) as his Lord and Savior.  He loves Yahshua and maintains a daily communion with Him, strengthening his relationship.  As he walks with Yahshua, Cortez listens to the Holy Spirit and allows Him to guide his actions.  His obedience to Yahshua has brought harmony to his 24-year marriage with his college sweetheart, Crystal K. Wash. Together, they have one child.

In 2006, Cortez received his minister's license.  He has overseen the Men's Department, the Sunday School Department, and Sunday Morning Intercession.  He was appointed Chief Adjutant of The Rehoboth Jurisdiction of Pilgrim Assembly of Illinois, where he served from 2008 to 2014.  Cortez attended DePaul University, earning his undergraduate degree in English, Philosophy, and History and his graduate degrees in Teaching and Learning (T&L) and Curriculum Studies.  Additionally, Cortez is an author.  His book, From The Father to His Sons: Conversations on Fatherhood and Husbandhood, published by Christian Faith Publishing, is available through the Tents of Jehoshaphat website, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
